Cap Feeding Gate System

For automated capping lines that do not include a cap feeder, operators are required to manually place caps onto containers that are in motion along a conveyor. The task of manually placing caps onto containers traveling along a conveyor is quite difficult.

The cap feeding gate system simplifies the manual cap placement process on an automated capping line. This user-friendly gate system stops the flow of bottles just before they enter the capping area, making it much easier and faster for the operator to place caps onto the containers.

Pucks

Small or narrow bottles, such as tubes and vials, do not travel well on conveyors due to their limited stability. Pucks provide the stability required for these applications to be conveyed securely through the filling, cap placement, and capping stations on a conveyor.

Kinex Cappers pucks are custom bored to match the diameter of the tube or small bottle they are to be used with. They include a clamping feature that will prevent the bottle from rotating during the cap placement and cap tightening operations.

Constructed of 60 durometer shore D urethane, Kinex Cappers pucks are rectangular in shape with chamfered edges that enable them to travel smoothly through the turns and curves of your conveyor system.

The ST Capping Head

Fit your automatic cap tightener with a 316 stainless steel capping head. 316 Stainless steel is the material of choice for use in laboratory, pharmaceutical, sanitary and sterile packaging environments because it is easy to clean, resistant to corrosion, and is chemically resistant to the cleaning agents commonly used in these environments.

In addition to their 316 stainless steel construction, ST™ capping heads include other features that make them ideal for use in clean settings. The internal components of an ST™ capping head are lubricated with NSF-H1 Food Grade Certified lubricants. The Kinex Exhaust Capture System™ is integrated into the design of every ST™ capping head. As an option, the ST™ capping head can be built with one of our oil free pneumatic motors.

The ST™ Capping Head is an optional upgrade to the standard motor offered with the Auto-Max™ capping machine. The cost of the upgrade is $755. You can purchase this upgrade when you place your order.

Oil Free Pneumatic Motors

Equip your automatic chuck capper with an optional oil free pneumatic motor. Standard pneumatic motors cannot be used in many clean environments because they expel a tiny amount of lubrication in their exhaust. Although the amount of oil they expel is so minimal that it is completely imperceptible, it is still not suitable for a clean environment. Since our oil free motors require no lubrication, the exhaust air exiting the machine is as clean as the compressed air going into it.

The oil free pneumatic motor is an optional upgrade to the standard motor offered with the Auto-Max™ capping machine. The cost of the upgrade is $250. You can purchase this upgrade when you place your order.

Exhaust Capture System

The Exhaust Capture System™ is an enclosure built into the capping motor that captures the exhaust air expelled by the capping motor and channels it directly into an air hose. The exhaust air then travels through the air hose to where it can be expelled in a location that will not adversely affect the clean environment.  The Exhaust Capture System™ can be added as an option to the standard Auto-Max™ capping head.  The cost of the upgrade is $250. You can purchase this upgrade when you place your order.

Combining these features will ensure that the air in your clean room is contaminant free and the air flow in your clean room is undisturbed.

Machined Chucks

Machined chucks are custom made to fit the rib pattern of a particular cap.  They fit the cap in the same way as a socket fits a nut.  Machined chucks provide extreme gripping power that make them very useful for certain types of challenging jobs, a few of which are described below.

  • Extreme Torque Applications
When a cap has to be applied with an unusual or extreme level of tightness, a machined chuck is the perfect solution. A machined chuck can always apply as much torque as is necessary and will do so quite easily. Machined chucks also improve torque accuracy and never have to be replaced.
  • De-Capping
The vast majority of de-capping jobs require a machined chuck. In most cases a standard chuck with inserted liner cannot provide enough gripping power to remove a tight cap. Generally what occurs is that the liner simply skids over the cap without removing it.

Machined chucks grip a cap so perfectly that it makes the removal of even the tightest of caps very easy.
  • Clean Room & Sterile Environments
The urethane or white rubber inserts within a standard chuck will wear slowly over time and can occasionally leave very small amounts of urethane or white rubber particles on the caps they tighten. These particles may not be allowed in certain clean, sterile or controlled environments.

Machined chucks are ideal for clean environments since they do not wear and do not create particles.  Machined chucks also improve torque accuracy and never have to be replaced.

Machined chucks cannot be purchased through our shopping cart. Please contact us to order.

Vanguard Chucks

A Vanguard chuck can be thought of as a flexible machined chuck. While a machined chuck is a custom part designed to fit the rib pattern of a particular cap, a Vanguard chuck uses 8 strategically positioned ribs that allow it to grip the rib patterns of most caps. The ribs on a Vanguard chuck are backed by two flexible bands that press the ribs against the cap to generate a strong grip on the cap.  A capping machine fitted with a Vanguard chuck can drive a high level of torque onto a cap. Vanguard chucks allow you to deliver as little or as much torque onto a cap as you desire and also have a beneficial impact on torque accuracy.
